About the RetailOS pilot program

Storeplay’s pilot program gives selected retailers the opportunity to test RetailOS in a small number of stores before considering a broader rollout.

Pilots require planning, setup and hands-on support from our team, so we accept a limited number of applications each month. They are best suited to larger, multi-site retail networks with the potential to roll RetailOS out across more locations if the pilot is successful.

What happens after you apply?

Once we receive your application, our team will review your store network, current in-store experience and what you would like to test.

Simon Dennis, our Global Head of Sales, will then contact you to:

  • Discuss whether a pilot is the right fit for your brand
  • Identify the most suitable stores and RetailOS solutions to test
  • Agree on the pilot scope and how success will be assessed
  • Confirm current availability and potential timing

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. If a pilot isn’t the right fit, we can still recommend other ways to get started.

FAQs

Who is the RetailOS Pilot Program designed for?

The program is best suited to larger, multi-site retailers that want to test a connected in-store experience before considering a broader rollout. Each application is reviewed based on store network, objectives, existing setup and rollout potential.

Is the RetailOS pilot free?

Yes. Selected retailers can run an agreed RetailOS pilot at no cost during the pilot period. The scope, participating stores, included solutions and any site requirements will be confirmed before the pilot begins.

How many stores can take part?

Pilots usually run across one to three representative stores. We’ll work with you to choose locations that provide a useful test and reflect the wider store network.

What matters is how you think about it going in. If you are buying a standalone tool, there are simpler options. If you are buying the foundation of an integrated operating system that you build on over time, then starting with one or two modules makes complete sense. We will help you figure out where to start based on where the pain is biggest.

Either way, there is no pressure to take more than you are ready for. The demo is where we work that out together.

What can we include in the pilot?

Depending on your objectives and store environment, your pilot may include branded music, digital displays, scent marketing or coordinated in-store campaigns. We’ll recommend the right combination after reviewing your application.

The honest answer is that it depends on your environment, which is exactly why our demo meeting exists. We'll ask about your current setup, flag anything that needs attention, and show you the most practical path to deployment. No surprises later.

How long does a pilot run?

The timing depends on what you are testing and the setup required. If your application is accepted, we’ll agree on the pilot period, launch timing and review dates with you before work begins.

Will RetailOS work with our existing store setup?

In many cases, RetailOS can work with existing in-store technology and infrastructure. We’ll review your current systems as part of the application process and identify any technical or hardware requirements.

What happens at the end of the pilot?

We’ll review the pilot against the goals agreed at the outset and discuss what worked, what we learned and whether a broader rollout makes sense for your network. There is no obligation to proceed beyond the agreed pilot.
