Music that's made for the space you’ve worked hard to create

In Australia, it is against the law to play any music in a commercial environment without paying fees to One Music. Storeplay offers three levels of curated playlists so you stay in control of your budget.

Retail Stores

Choose music that supports your brand and creates the right atmosphere while customers browse.

Cafes

Set the tone for morning coffee, lunch service and the quieter parts of the day.

Beauty & Spas

Create a considered environment without relying on personal playlists or interrupting the experience to manage the music.

Medical & Health

Bring a calmer, more comfortable sound to waiting rooms, reception areas and treatment spaces.

We make music licensing easy.

Your Storeplay price includes the applicable OneMusic licence fee for background music at your location, and handles the OneMusic registration and payment on your behalf.

One sign up. One monthly payment. Easy.

During signup, we'll ask:

  • What type of business you operate
  • The address of your location
  • The approximate area where the music will be heard
  • Which Storeplay plan you want

You don't need to:

  • Work out which OneMusic licence applies
  • Complete a separate OneMusic signup
  • Pay a separate OneMusic invoice
  • Manage two subscriptions

Music for any brand, any time and any day.

Select from over 70 curated channels within the Storeplay portfolio. Channels are updated monthly to keep music fresh and on-trend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to our most commonly asked questions.

What kind of music does Storeplay offer?

We provide expertly curated, brand-safe playlists across a wide range of genres and moods, from chart hits and indie favourites to relaxed lounge vibes and energetic workout tracks. All music is reviewed for lyrical appropriateness.

Do I need a Storeplayer?

A Storeplayer is a device used for any businesses that do not operate Bluetooth connected speakers. A Storeplayer connects directly into your amplifier, which enables you to play Storeplay music through your speakers. A Storeplayer device can be purchased for $345, or available FREE with Storeplay Radio on an annual subscription.

Is Storeplay Radio legal to use in my store?

Yes, Storeplay is 100% legal. We work directly with music labels and rights holders, paying royalties to artists and writers for all music used in our programs. This means you're streaming licensed, approved music — not a DIY playlist or personal Spotify account.

However, businesses are also required to pay public performance fees (music licences) via One Music (AU) or One Music NZ, depending on your location. These are standard in the industry and can be included in your monthly Storeplay subscription if you tick the relevant box when setting up.

Can I customise the music for different times of day or locations?

Absolutely. Storeplay Radio allows you to schedule playlists by time of day, day of week, or location. For example, you can have a calm morning playlist, high-energy lunch vibe, and a relaxed evening soundtrack, all fully automated.

What are public performance fees, and why do I have to pay them?

Public performance fees cover your legal right to play copyright-protected music in a business setting. Buying a CD, using Spotify, or playing personal music does not grant commercial playback rights.

Generally, if you're playing music in a commercial environment — like a retail store, café, gym, or clinic — you’ll need these licences.

In Australia and New Zealand, these fees are payable through:

Can I control Storeplay Radio remotely?

Yes. You can manage music across all your locations from a single dashboard. Whether you're in head office or on the go, you have full control via desktop or mobile.

Do I need special equipment to run Storeplay Lite or Storeplay Radio?

There are two ways to play your Storeplay music:

Bluetooth Speakers:

When using Bluetooth Speakers, your music is controlled directly through the Storeplay App (available for Windows, iOS or Android). You receive free access to the app with an active Storeplay Lite or Storeplay Radio subscription.

Wired Speakers with Amplifer:

If you have speakers running through an amplifier, you require a Storeplayer device connected directly into your amplifier.

Which businesses can sign up online?

Online signup is available for:

  • Retail stores
  • Cafés
  • Beauty salons and spas
  • Medical and allied health practices

The listed prices cover background music during normal business operations.

For other business types, or multi-site locations, please contact our sales team.

Do I need to contact OneMusic?

No. Storeplay manages the OneMusic registration and pays the applicable licence fee on your behalf.

You only need to complete the Storeplay signup.

Why does the price depend on the size of my space?

OneMusic licence fees vary based on factors that include the type of business and the area where the music can be heard.

How do I measure my space?

Measure the approximate customer-facing area where the music will be audible.

For a retail store, this will usually be the shop floor. For a café, it will generally be the customer dining area. For a salon, spa or medical practice, include the customer or patient areas where the music will play.

You don’t need to include areas where the music cannot be heard.

What is the difference between Storeplay and OneMusic?

Storeplay supplies the music service, curated channels and playback technology.

OneMusic provides the rights required to play protected music in a commercial setting. Storeplay arranges the applicable OneMusic registration and pays the fee on your behalf.

Both are covered by the monthly price shown on this page.

Can I use Spotify, Apple Music or another personal streaming account instead?

Personal streaming subscriptions are generally intended for personal use and do not provide the rights required to play music publicly in a business.

Storeplay is designed for commercial environments and manages the applicable OneMusic licensing for you.

Does this cover live music, DJs, dancing or events?

No. The prices shown cover background music during normal business operations.

Live music, DJs, dancing, fitness instruction and events may have different licensing requirements.

What if I have more than one location?

This online signup is for one location. If your business operates across multiple sites, speak with Storeplay about a multi-location solution.
